The ‘Right-Brain’ and ‘Left-Brain’ influence our behaviors and ability to think. You will learn how to activate and develop connections between both hemispheres. You will be engaged in activities that increase Right-Left brain connections and strengthen potential for creativity, insight, focus, concentration, and the ability to socialize and learn.
Learning-Styles, Multiple Intelligences, and the Brain
Are you an auditory, visual or kinesthetic learner? What are your intelligence preferences? You will engage in activities that teach curricular topics according to the way your students’ brain learns best. Do you know that 90% of instruction is auditory but only 10-20% of the population prefer auditory instruction? You will understand how to teach to every learning style preference.
Teaching Literacy according to the 4BELS (Four Brain Essential Learning Steps)
The 4BELS instructional strategies are illustrated through teaching literacy. This is a research-based instructional process that can be implemented with any theme or curricular topic. Scholastic Books is an additional attraction displaying a variety of language arts options that will compliment this literacy session.
Dr. Andrea Seidman
Dr. Andrea Seidman holds a Doctor of Education degree in Instructional Leadership with a minor in Early Childhood Education. Her Master degrees are in curriculum development and brain research in addition to a dual undergraduate degree in Education and History. She has completed certifications ranging from Early Childhood through Secondary Education and is a Dyslexia Specialist in screening for dyslexia. Andrea specializes in establishing instructional strategies that create optimal learning environments according to the way the brain learns best. She leads workshops and presentations based on her Four Brain Essential Learning Stepsã known as the 4BELSã curricular process. She has presented at educator conferences in China, S. Korea, and throughout the United States. She is a master instructor of the National Administrator Credential and adjunct professor of early childhood courses that include being an instructor of the PA Director Credential for Keystone College.
Dr. Seidman is President of A Child’s World Education and Early Age Learning Schools established in 1994. These schools are rated as the highest quality in early childhood education through the international Quality Rating System (STARs) and national accreditation and are private academic schools licensed through the Department of Education.
